Stoplock Helps prevent Tampering of your Sliding Glass Door Security Bar

Stoplock for Lockking Security Bars

Lockking Security Bar with Stoplock

  • Some of the older sliding glass doors or patio doors didn’t have a secure protective barrier between the panels.
  • When the door is in the closed position there shouldn’t be a space between the door and the fixed panel.
  • Newer patio doors like vinyl and wood usually have a interlocking barrier.
  • Without this solid barrier a burglar could slide a device between the doors and unlock a security bar.
  • Lockking has a simple device called StopLock.
  • Stoplock slides on the security bar and prevents the lifting up of the security bar and unlocking it.
  • When not in use, the Stoplock can slide out of the way.
  • Not all sliders have this problem, but Lockking supplies the customer with the StopLock at no extra charge for piece of mind.
  • People with Pet Door Panels will benefit from the Stoplock.

Sliding Glass Door Security/ A Real View

Not long ago, I received a call from a woman whose brother was a quadriplegic. She was intent on eliminating his struggles opening and closing, locking and unlocking his sliding door. Her brother used a stick in the railing with a string attached to it. She had been researching the internet for a solution, looking for a security bar – one that would fit in his large-sized sliding door. Her search brought her to Lockking Security Bars.Operation of Lockking Secutiy Bar

A very large focus of the media is security, everything from securing our borders to home invasions; with daily news from crime against homes to crime against businesses. Many home devices are unable to withstand a break-in, although any security device will definitely deter a break-in by sight. An estimated 1 in 3 homes have a sliding door and most homes have sliding windows, making a good, strong security bar a valuable tool in home security. Some windows in a home are in a vulnerable place by sight or by foliage, and with that in mind, a security bar is a very unique security product for sliding doors and sliding windows. It is set in the door, with one end attached to the sliding door and the other end attached to the jamb. No tools are necessary for installation, adding easy placement. An important part of this security bar is its ability to perform at any height in the door.

    Action of Lockking Security Bar

Unlike some products with a similar description of “security bar”, security bars works with the door, opening fully. Because it can be set at any chosen height, our security bar eliminates bending over to pull up a stick or move some kind of fixed lock. The bar moves with the door back and forth, and a simple push down on the bar will lock it. The reverse action unlocks the door. Once in a locked position, the bar prevents any movement such as jiggling of the door, preventing removal of the door itself from the outside. This product overcomes many obstacles encountered by our seniors, handicapped and disabled homeowners. Installed at any convenient height, everyone can easily lock and unlock, open and close the door it can be modified to fit any size door, which gives wheelchair users the convenience and security they need. Lockking Security Bar closing

When placed out-of-reach, parents have added security for their children, preventing unseen access to such things as the backyard or swimming pool. This unique product has found its way into many homes, including a home of 11 children with disabilities ranging from autism to CP giving the caretakers added security and peace of mind. An Alzheimer’s home has set the security bar high in the door under the blinds, giving out of sight and reach to many, preventing “wandering” of patients. Parents and caretakers can see the bar from across the room or house. The children are quiet, maybe too quiet. With a glance – the bar is in place, peace of mind is back. We like that.

Lockking Security Bars for Sliding Glass Doors/ Articulating Arm

Sliding Glass Doors or Patio Doors usually have a common problem, the latch or lock doesn’t work. Unless you own a very expensive door with a deadbolt system, you are like millions of other home owners or renters that have a less than adequate lock.

Many people use a stick or purchase a clamp on or screw on device that that may fix the problem temporarily. There are even some inexpensive hinged bars that the home owner has to cut to fit and screw into the door and jamb.

The problem with all of these products, even the stick is that you have to continually do something to it to make it work. Example: the stick, you have to remove it each time you want to
open the door and remember to put it back when you are done, you can’t see if it’s in place or not.  Hopefully the dog or child hasn’t run off with it.

With most systems on the market including the latch that came with the door, a burglar can easily pry the door open. The stick seems to be the cheapest most effective solution, but not the best solution.

What you need is the Peace of Mind knowing that you don’t have one more thing that you have to worry about and you can feel safe and secure about that vulnerable big piece of sliding glass.

That’s where Lockking’s Articulating Arm comes into play. Not only is it Easy to Install but to use,  it couldn’t be much Easier to Use.

Fitting between the sliding door and the side jamb it it provides the Perfect Solution to securing your sliding glass door.

How To Raise Your Sliding Glass Door

    Adjustment for sliding glass door

Before installing a Lockking Security Lock or Bar you will need to raise the sliding glass door as high as it will go and still slide easily.  This will keep someone on the outside from pushing up on the sliding door and unlatching most factory latches.

To do this you will need the right kind of screwdriver, either a philips or slot driver.  By looking down at the hole at the bottom edge of the sliding door you can determine which screw driver will work.  There is a roller adjustment screw on both sides of the door.  By inserting the screwdriver into the adjustment screw in the door you can raise or lower the door.  Raise one side a little and then the other in order to keep the edge of the sliding door aligned with the side jamb.  If it seems to hard to turn the screw you might need a friend to lift that edge of the door to take the weight off of the adjustment roller.
